THE YOUTH INCLUSION AND SUPPORT PANEL PROJECT
WHAT IS A YISP?
YISPS are multi-agency planning groups that seek to prevent offending and anti-social behaviour by offering voluntary support services to those children (and their families) aged 8 – 13 deemed to be at risk of offending.
The YISP aims to work with such children by co-ordinating packages of support including:
- Local Youth Clubs
- Sports Activities
- School Holiday Activities
- Family Support
- Group Work
- Offending Behaviour Resistance Programmes
- Addressing specific issues that are likely to contribute to offending behaviour
- Mentoring
IS MY CHILD SUITABLE FOR THE PROJECT?
If your child is affected by 2 or more of the listed circumstances, they may benefit from our support:
- Are they known to truant from school?
- Has your child ever been excluded from school?
- Are there problems within the family home, affecting the child?
- Do you live in an area where there is a high crime rate?
- Is your home in an area where you have concerns about the availability of drugs and alcohol to young people?
- Are you unhappy with the type of young people your child is mixing with?
- Do you suspect that they are becoming involved in petty crime?
- Is there an older child in the family who has been in trouble with the Police?
HOW DO I GET MY CHILD INVOLVED?
