Volunteering for Remand Foster Care
To become a Remand Foster Carer you, (and if you have one your partner) must be willing to be assessed and approved as a foster carer, anyone else living in the household will be involved in the assessment process, which will include, for over 18 year olds, an Enhanced Criminal Record Bureau Disclosure.
As a Remand Foster Carer you will receive:
- Fee of £150 per week + fostering allowance, while the young person is with you.
- Ongoing training and development.
- Regular supervision and 24-hour support.
- Work, as part to a team of professional.
As a Remand Foster Carer the YOS expect:
- You to be committed to working to enhance the life chances of the young people in your care.
- You, to have the emotional and physical space for a young person. (He/she will need to have a bedroom of their own.)
- You, to offer a high standard of care and be able to work professionally with a wide range of people.
